Playing with Studio Equipment

As I've posted on Facebook, Christmas morning I was blessed to receive amazing studio equipment with backdrops and lighting. I know nothing about studio portraits, so I had some of my friends model for me. I have to say, outdoor photography is definitely my favorite. There is nothing better than the golden light the sun casts and the beautiful background that nature supplies. I also find outdoor photography less "posed" than a lot of studio portraits, which is something I strive for in my photography. I think I'll save the studio equipment for newborns and head shots until I learn more about it, that way I can give it an honest chance. Nonetheless, I thought I would share some!

I've also been working on positioning two photos side by side to create one file. It's more time consuming but I like the end result so much better. It adds some interest to the layout of the post.
